BHDTA TRAINING CLINICS

Every year, the BHDTA organise a number of training clinics for drivers and event officials.

To attend any of the clinics, you must book a place through the BHDTA office.
For some clinics you may pay at the door, at extra cost. Please see details of the actual clinic.

You can download a CLINIC BOOKING FORM to post with a cheque payment or you can book ON-LINE using a credit card.

Club Clinic (South) - Dressage / Club Judges

Trainer: Liza Wood

Starting at 9:30 for 10:00 am.  The fee will be £10.00 which will include refreshments and a light lunch. Tea and coffee will be available as delegates arrive. This will be followed by class room training in the morning with practical training outside after lunch (weather permitting). Please book through the BHDTA office.

Club Clinic (South) - Course Designers / Technical Delegates

Trainers: Mark Ingham and Ian Douglas

Starting at 9:30 for 10:00 am.  The fee will be £10.00 which will include refreshments and a light lunch. Tea and coffee will be available as delegates arrive. This will be followed by class room training in the morning with practical training outside after lunch (weather permitting). Please book through the BHDTA office.

Stewards Training Clinic

Trainer:  Ian Douglas

All aspects of Stewards' duties in all three phases of an event will be discussed. Cost: £10:00. Starting at 9:30 for 10:00 am.  Please book through the BHDTA office.

Club Clinic (North) - Dressage / Club Judges

Trainer: Sarah Garnett

The workshop is for club judges and drivers who wish to have a better understanding of the judges’ point of view and who may be prepared to judge at club events in the future or gain a deeper understanding of what is required in the test.

The clinic will start at 10 a.m. and finish at approx. 4 p.m.

Cost - £20 including light lunch. Please book through the BHDTA office.

Trainer: Mark Ingham

Mark Ingham is an International Candidate Course Designer and has a wealth of experience at National Events. The clinic is for existing club course designers as well as interested newcomers.

The clinic will start at 10 a.m. and finish at approx. 4 p.m.

Cost - £20 including light lunch. Please book through the BHDTA office.

The BHDTA will again be running the successful clinic for young drivers at the Unicorn Trust, starting on the AFTERNOON of Monday April 5th and then April 6th and 7th.

The two and half days will be filled with instruction from Anna Grayston and Sara Howe, both reigning BHDTA National Champions and another instructor to be announced.

Please apply to Sydney Smith as soon as possible if you are interested in attending the clinic by emailing sydneysmith@unicornequestriantrust.org.uk or phone 07710944848. Sydney will then forward to you more information about the clinic, costs, application forms etc that you will need to fill in.

Please be aware that there is a closing date of March 22nd so get your applications in early to assist us with organisation. The clinic is for all young drivers whatever their level of experience and the emphasis of the coaching is instruction towards horse driving trials. We look forward to meeting you if you are a new driver to BHDTA clinics and to seeing our many repeat applicants!
