MEMBERSHIP SERVICES
A large amount of information for members is available in the REFERENCE section on our website. This includes entry forms, dressage tests and other paperwork which you can download and print out.

GIFT MEMBERSHIP
Why not give a gift of BHDTA membership to someone. Available for all membership categories. We will send you a printed certificate for a year's membership. Apply in the normal way, asking for a gift membership and specify the address you wish your certificate sent to.

CARRIAGE DRIVING MAGAZINE
The only magazine dedicated entirely to sport and recreation with the harness horse. Published monthly, it includes a two-page BHDTA Official News section. Carriage Driving Magazine offer a 10% discount on their annual subscription to all BHDTA members. Visit www.carriage-driving.com

 

2012 MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

CATEGORY COST
Full Member (National Competitor)
Can drive and groom at National and Regional driving trials. Has full legal liability insurance at home and at events, 365 days a year. Receives BHDTA Yearbook and newsletters, can vote and attend BHDTA A.G.M. and Conference.

Associate Member (Regional Competitor)
Can drive at Club events, National Novice Qualifiers (including those at National events) and Regional Events. Can groom at National events. Has full legal liability insurance at home and at events, 365 days a year. Receives BHDTA Yearbook and newsletters, can vote and attend BHDTA A.G.M. and Conference.

Young Driver (10 to 21 years)
Same privileges as full member, until the end of the year in which they attain their 21st birthday. Young Drivers may join the BHDTA from 1st January in the year in which they attain their 10th birthday.

Marathon Groom
Can groom at National events, but not compete. Only insured as a groom. Receives Yearbook and newsletters and can attend Conference, but cannot vote.

Marathon Groom (Single event)
Only insured and allowed to groom at one specified National or Regional event in a season.
To groom at a second event, you must have annual membership.

Receives BHDTA Yearbook and newsletters and can attend the Annual Conference.

Combined - Full (first member) and Associate (second member)
Same privileges as Full / Associate members, but at a discounted rate for 2 memberships. Members must be at the same address and will only receive one copy of the Yearbook and newsletter.

Overseas surcharge
There is a surcharge for subscribers in countries outside the European Union to cover airmail.

  1. All subscriptions run from 1st January to 31st December
  2. It is compulsory for all Marathon Grooms at National Horse Driving Trials to be members of The British Horse Driving Trials Association. This can be in any category EXCEPT Supporter.
  3. Insurance is valid only for UK and Ireland residents

HOW TO PAY YOUR BHDTA MEMBERSHIP
 

B.A.C.S.

 

If you are an existing member renewing your subscription, the preferred method of payment is by B.A.C.S. (direct transfer from your bank account to the BHDTA's). This avoids the transaction surcharge applied to credit card payments. You can set up a BACS transfer through your bank’s on-line banking service, or by visiting your local branch.
