For some time now it has been evident that grooms have been one section of the equestrian industry with little or no representation. That all changed today as the British Grooms Association launched at Badminton and welcomed grooms to join as members.

The British Grooms Association (BGA) will provide support and advice to grooms and aims to continually improve the recognition of its members – working grooms – as professionals.

• Work with employers to create the best working environment for staff incorporating modern working practices, ultimately raising both standards of professionalism and overall retention.

A voluntary board of Directors has been set up to help guide and support the development of the BGA. Grooms representing all sectors of the industry will also be invited to be involved as part of a professionals committee.
