New BHDTA Executive Officer appointed

Council are delighted to announce that they have appointed Mary Kusin to be Executive Officer of the BHDTA. Mary is a keen competitor and has been an excellent administrator of the Scottish Carriage Driving Association. The appointment will see the BHDTA office administration moving to Scotland.

Mary says: "Many thanks to the legions of people that have sent congratulations and offers of assistance on hearing the news of my appointment as Executive Officer to the BHDTA."

"Many thanks also to Gaynor and Amanda who have worked diligently for many years to keep the association running smoothly and particularly to Anne who has done sterling work keeping the office functioning while I work my statutory period of notice from my present employment."

The office transfer will be progressive over the week beginning 5th November, so we ask for members’ patience and understanding while the changes are implemented.

In an effort to cut costs and streamline the workload, the BHDTA Council have followed the ever increasing number of companies which recognise that geographical location is no longer a limiting factor. The rationale behind the decision to relocate the office is a logical one in this modern society of cheap air fares and electronic communication.

The office will now be located at Mary's home (the same as Jill’s and Sally’s before the office moved to Stoneleigh) and it will soon be possible for members to make contact on a number of evenings."

"For members that do not know me, I have driven at National level with a single pony and represented Great Britain as an individual at Catton in 2005. This year I enjoyed a new challenge and started competing with my pony pair. I have been secretary of the Scottish Carriage Driving Association for six years and feel that it will be an enormous advantage in my new position to have had an involvement with the sport’s organisation at club level. I am delighted to be able to develop my involvement with the sport and look forward to working with the BHDTA Council on behalf of the members."
