Josef Leibetseder from Altenfelden, where 5 years ago the Golden Wheel Trophy started and is being successfully awarded each year: “The boarders are open, the times where we had to wait for hours with the horses in the trailers during transit are history. Let us use these facts as a huge opportunity for our great sport.” Kazimierz Waga, President of Equisport Warka, talked about the necessary progressive thinking during the organization of horse sport events and his father, Mr. Jan Waga, expressed it clearly with: “One has to think globally – especially in the horse driving sport. This Golden Wheel Cup is a good product, and new perspectives were created for the drivers, the spectators, the organizers, the media and especially the sponsors.” Also Joszef Dobrovitz sen. recognizes huge opportunities for a successful development of all participants in horse driving sport as a result of this coordinated and x-boarder executed horse driving series. The international driving tournament in Vecsés will be held in 2008 for the first time as a CAIO and is therefore now part of the most prestigious horst driving tournaments in the world.
The first of the four tournaments, which represent the Golden Wheel Cup for Pairs in 2008, is being held in the Czech National Stud in Kladruby nad Labem from April 17th to April 20th. The most current registration status for this competition indicates, that already 120 competitors have announced their intention to compete. This is a good indication that it will be a successful start into the “Four-Nation- Project” of Horst Driving Competition. Looking into the future – 2009 – the Golden Wheel Cup for Singles and Teams is coming!
