Peter "Snowy" Cleaver

It is with deep sadness that we report the death of our dear friend and ex-club chairman Snowy, following a cancer diagnosis only month ago.

Snowy had been a great supporter of the White Horse Harness Club Club for over 20 years. Whilst Chairman he instigated the club championships at Highclere Castle and was always at events stewarding, course building, driving trailers to and from events with equipment as well as being ‘transport manager’ for wife Jacky and daughter Jo who have been driving for many years with our club and more recently on the National circuit. Snowy was often drafted in to help at events, always reliable and keen to help in any capacity and a great friend to so many, he will be a huge loss to us all.

He was extremely proud of Jacky & Jo’s driving achievements and none more so than when they went to the World Pony Championships at Catton Park in 2005 and of his son Kevin who married his long time girlfriend Claire only last month. Our deepest sympathies go to Jacky, daughter Jo and husband Julian, son Kevin and wife Claire and the rest of the family.

We will report on funeral details as soon as we know them as we feel sure know that so many of you who knew him will want to join the family in mark the passing of a truly great friend, ‘Mr Snow’.

Funeral arrangements:
Basingstoke Crematorium on Tuesday 14th July at 11.45. No black, marathon colours welcome. No flowers but a collection will be made for the Countess of Brecknock Hospice.
