The final two selection events for this class will be held at Ashfields and Hopetoun in 2010. Due to the long gap between the first selection events and the World Championships, any competitor wishing to be considered for selection will be required to compete at a minimum of one selection event in 2010, to prove to the Ratification Panel that they have retained form over the winter. This is a requirement, regardless of how a competitor is placed in the selection table at the end of the 2009 season.

QUALIFICATION

UK COMPETITOR SELECTION PROCEDURE

1. Prior to their first selection event, competitors must state their interest in writing and sign the declaration agreement.

2. There will be four or five selection events, the best three results to be counted. To be considered for team selection a competitor must complete three events.

3. Points to be awarded as final event placing ie. 1st = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points etc.

   (a) Points will be awarded to declared selection candidates only: i.e. If the 1st placed competitor at a selection event is not a declared candidate, one point will be awarded for 2nd place, etc.

   (b) The competitor(s) having the lowest points after all the selection events have been completed shall be selected, subject to approval by the ratification panel.

   (c) Should there be an equality of points scored, the marathon scores at mutually contested events will resolve placings.

4. There is no restriction on the number of horses that may be used during selection but in Single Classes each driver/horse combination will be classified individually.

5. Horses to be qualified as Article 911. BHDTA to make available qualifying events.

6. Council will nominate Selection Events with a view to finalising teams in sufficient time to allow pre-Championship team training and preparation.
