The BHDTA have adopted the British Equestrian Federation's Equal Opportunities, Equity and Child Protection Policy, which is available to download (see below).

The British Horse Driving Trials Association and its Affiliated Clubs are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for children, young people and vulnerable adults. Whether involved in driving trials at a local or national level, all children and young people have a right to be safe and protected from harm.

The BHDTA fully accepts its legal (Children's Act 1989) and moral obligation to provide a duty of care, to protect all children and vulnerable adults and to safeguard their welfare, irrespective of age, any disability they have, gender, racial origin, religious belief and sexual identity.

Both Janis and Amanda are responsible for Child Protection at national and club level. They will be happy to discuss any queries regarding referrals, training matters or issue of concerns. Janis Moore is currently a Team Manager of a Child Protection Team with a Local Authority, and has many years of experience in this field.
