| Stolen Harness On Wednesday 6th October 2004 at 10.30pm, thieves broke into the Stella Hancock Driving Groups RDA's harness room at Merrist Wood Campus, Guildford, Surrey. Although the building was fully alarmed, the thieves had been in and out in a quick pre-planned raid, involving at least two vehicles and at least four people, according to the police who arrived extremely quickly with sniffer dogs. The thieves have taken four complete sets of black Duraweb and Firefly Tedman harness to fit 11.1 hh, 12.2 hh, 13.00 hh and 13.2 hh. Also sets of ordinary webbing reins, leather reins and special reins with loops etc for disabled drivers. Two Fleck whips. One set of harness has double terrets on the pad to separate both sets of reins that are very distinctive. They also stole one set of English working harness in black leather and several spare leather traces of various lengths, along with three under bridle head collars. No doubt the harness is long gone, but if anyone suspects or hears anything suspicious please ring the Surrey Police on 0845 1252222 SPARE HARNESS TO KEEP THE GROUP DRIVING…. If anyone has spare harness that they could lend to the group in order to enable them to keep driving for the rest of the season, then please contact Judi Ralls, Chairman Stella Hancock RDA Group on 01252 850330 …. we especially need spare sets of reins for the AB whips to use. | ||

| Driving Trials equipment trailer The trailer stolen from Hackthorn Hall is an elderly white four wheeled glass-fibre box trailer with pointed front panel and rear loading ramp. The red lettering has been removed, but there are likely to be marks where it was saying something like "Lincolnshire Driving Trials Group sponsored by Keith Arnold Cars" It had small white sidelights at the front of the trailer, and the offside one was hanging off. Inside there are Dexian shelves on each side, which may or may not contain a whole host of driving equipment including posts, guttering, orange cones, wooden cutout figures, clip boards, stationary, dressage markers, stopwatches, thermos flasks, hammers, nails, tape measures, dressage letters, sledge hammers, post knocker and many other items.
